GradFinder.com has an interesting etiology. It began as an alumni oriented sub-site of the greaterHighWired.org domain. However, their management model must have suffered from some dot.com ailment for, in April 2001, the site was sold to — get this — the FriendFinder Network. I suppose that there is some legitimacy to this company, but IMO a site primarily purposed for personals must have dubious designs on an alumni clearinghouse. That said, in the year or so since the migration the site remains one of the best and most versatile. Registrants have the ability to send blind email to other alumni; post messages to the various boards intended for that purpose; and format all sorts of profile components — all free of charge.
