Mark has been busy of late devoting quite a bit of energy revising and enhancing his CFBISD web site. It has paid off. His site was recognized for its design and is CFB WebLight of the week.

Another Adame stork

Very special news reached us earlier today as we learned that Kristie and Mark are expecting their first child in the late fall. Due for arrival sometime in November, this will mark their first human child. :-) The revelation also heralds the arrival of the eighth Adame grandchild; joining Rebecca, Sarah, Collin, Avery, Ethan, EvaMarie and James.

We congratulate Kristie and Mark on their journey toward parenthood!

Nathan highlighted as a hero

The Plano Star Courier ran a story on Valentine's Day wherein it lauded the heroic actions of one of the youngest members of our community. Maintaining his wits and exhibiting his ability to think quickly, Nathan took control of a situation recently in which his father suffered an seizure while ferrying the children. Taking the steering wheel, the five-year-old guided the car to the side of the road; avoiding both a telephone pole and a pond. Unable to reach his father's cell phone, he then exited the vehicle, flagged down a passing motorist and had them call 911.

Children and father alike avoided serious injury thanks to the intrepid action of Nathan.

Jen's USM site back online

The USM faculty profile page for Jen is back online. Following a ninety day hiatus during which it underwent redesign, word was received today that the profile is once again available. It branches from the roster available by selecting the "Faculty" tab in the navigation panel at the Department of Biological Sciences site.

The revised profile provides an overview of Jen's research interests, contact and education information,as well as a summary of her funded research projects and selected publications.

All navigation links throughout the site have been reactivated.
