Vanished

List distribution of the newsletter divulged that John's earthlink address is no longer valid. Follow-up investigation revealed that his freelance photography web site is also missing in action. We hope this is a temporary circumstance.

"Emmy's condition"

...so introduced an electronically distributed missive from Mark earlier today. Prompted by the discovery of a mass discovered on her spleen; ultrasonic examination could not determine malignancy; so, surgery has been scheduled for today.

Quoth Mark:

She has lost 8lbs in the last month (60lbs down to 52lbs) and if it wasn't for her thick coat you may not notice until you pet her; skin-n'-bones. SO, if they find out that the tumor is benign, then great news but if it's malignant, then we have some more choices to make as far as treatment...

At thirteen years of age, Emmy has lived a long life and has always been a loyal companion to Mark (and Kristie, now, as well). She is loved by many. We all hope that surgery goes well and that the prognosis is good.
