Xander Gerrit Wienen
We welcome the newest member of our extended family. News has reached us that Andrea gave birth to a healthy baby boy yesterday morning at 11:25CST. Xander Gerrit Wienen entered the world weighing 4.03kg, 55.9cm in length and was delivered by Caesarean Section. Mother and child are healthy and doing well. Andrea is scheduled for discharge Sunday. The proud grandmother, Joanne, promises photos will soon be posted to the community album.
Our congratulations to Andrea and Michael on the birth of their first child!
"Firefighter of the Year"
Additional accolades for Christopher reach us today. Recall news from last month that he had been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant within the Forts Lake/Franklin Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Jen shares news that additional awards and recognition were heaped upon Christopher during the annual Christmas Party last night. She writes:
"Chris won 'Firefighter of the Year' last night at the annual Franklin Creek Fire Dept. Christmas party. He was also formally promoted to Lieutenant and received 2nd place for amount of training hours he participated in and 1st place for the number of calls he responded to. He was the star of the night!!"
A star indeed! Our congratulations to Christopher for his accomplishments.

Holiday 2006 Visit from Poppa
The North Texas branches of the Adame Clan welcomed an early Holiday gift when all three households hosted overnight stays by Fred during a four day visit. Arriving late Thursday morning, he spent the first evening in the household of Elizabeth and Herman. Friday night was spent in the far reaches of northern Collin County as John and Christy hosted his second evening. Kristie and Mark rounded out the retinue by providing shelter both Saturday and Sunday evenings.
In addition to numerous shopping trips and other forms of entertainment, the hallmark of the visit was a large, family dinner at Buca di Beppo, Saturday afternoon. In many respects, it was a repeat of a similar gathering last year, with the addition of Mark and Aidan; making for an almost complete representation of families. Other highlights were pilgrimages to The German Deli, The Apple Store, Texas Towers and Fry's. Overall, a most enjoyable visit and one that was far too short.
Fred departed this morning for the return flight to Florida.
