The May Family
The May Family; Garland, Texas

10 February 2006

As of today, Rebecca has become a licensed driver in the state of Texas. Postponed but a few days, the necessary paperwork was presented to a representative of the Department of Public Safety. A few signatures, an eye test, a few dollars and a snapshot is all it took.

Even though she will be on probation for the next six months, he has already been drafted to begin contributing to family duties. Monday marks the beginning of her responsibility of picking up Collin from school in the afternoon and, when neccessary, chauffeuring him to this or that activity.

Mournful Repeat

Today was to have been a the date on which Rebecca became a licensed driver. Sadly, The Fates do not recognize such adolescent milestones. Instead, she, Elizabeth and Margaret are traveling to Southeast Texas to attend the funeral of the Adams Family patriarch.

It was only a little under three short months ago that this same contingent from our household made a celebratory trip to Jasper in order to commemorate the ninetieth anniversary of the birth of Pat Adams. Comments at the time reflected his apparent good health and the anticipation for celebrate several more birthdays. Fortunate indeed is the fact that Elizabeth and Rebecca made the decision to attend that earlier event.
